Albums

Albums collect photos and videos around a theme without moving anything.

What an album is

An album is a hand-picked selection: a birthday, a weekend, the best of a year. A photo can be in as many albums as you like. Nothing is moved or copied, so your library stays as it is.

Create an album

On the albums page, click "New album" and give it a name. You write the description right below the title: a line or two about what it's for. Formatting works like in notes.

Add photos

Three ways: Drag files onto the album page, and they are uploaded and land straight in the album. Choose "Add photos" and pick them from your library. Or select photos in the library and use "Add to album" in the selection menu.

Remove photos

"Remove from album" only takes the photo out of this album. It stays in your library and in other albums.

Cover

Until you choose one, the newest photo is the cover. You set your own with "Set as album cover" in a photo's menu.

Sorting

Within an album you sort by date, newest or oldest first, or by title.

Share an album

Albums are private until you create a link. You do that in the album's menu. Everything in the album is visible through the link, including photos you add later. All options are described under Sharing.

Reactions and comments

Visitors to your link can react to the album and, if you allow it, leave comments. You see both on the album page, can reply, and get new comments by email.

Duplicate and delete

"Duplicate" creates a copy of the album with the same photos. "Delete" removes only the album and its link. The photos stay in your library.

Albums or trips?

Albums collect, trips tell. An album is a set of photos without order or text. A trip has chapters with a date, a place and journal text, and reads like a story. For a journey or a period of time with a course, a trip fits. For a selection, an album does.
