Browsing
The photo page shows one photo or video at a time. With the arrows at the edge or the arrow keys you browse through where you came from: the library, an album, a chapter or search results. Escape or "Back" closes the page.
Full screen and slideshow
In full screen, the top bar fades out after three seconds and comes back with every mouse movement.
"Play" starts the slideshow. You set how long each photo stays on screen and whether videos play to the end or move on after the set time. With "Loop" the slideshow starts again from the beginning at the end, otherwise it stops at the last photo.
Videos
Videos play in the compressed version. Whether they start automatically when you open them is a setting in Settings. It applies only to the device on which you set it.
The info area
On the right or below the photo you find everything we know about it: date, location, title, tags, people, note and the camera data. You can change everything right there. What you set takes priority over what the camera saved.
The second tab shows comments that visitors to your links left on this photo, and your replies.
Notes
The note is free text. You can make words bold, italic or underlined and create lists. Web addresses become clickable automatically. With @ you add a person, with # a tag.
Setting a location
Type a place name and choose from the suggestions, or pick the point directly on the map. You can also give it a name of your own, such as "Grandma's garden". How places are displayed, short on tiles and detailed here, you set in Settings.
Faces
"Show faces" displays the frames around detected faces. Click a frame to name a face or to correct a mix-up. If other photos have a similar face, we ask whether we should name them too. Faces you name here become people, just as on the People page.
Organising
With the bar at the top you make the photo a favourite, add it to an album or a trip chapter, set it as a cover, share it with a link or download the original.
Rotate, edit, delete
Rotate left and right turns the photo in 90-degree steps. "Edit" switches the info area to edit mode. "Delete" moves the photo to the Trash, where it can be restored for 30 days.
Keyboard
The arrow keys browse, Escape closes the page. While editing, Escape discards your changes and Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on a Mac) saves them.
