What a tag is
A tag is a word on a photo: "Beach", "Travel", "Grandma's garden". A photo can carry as many tags as you like, and every tag can be found through search.
Assign tags
Open a photo and add tags in the info area, or write #beach in the note. For many photos at once, select them in the library and use "Tags" in the selection menu.
Browse by tags
On the Tags page you choose a tag and see its photos. Choose several and you see only the photos that carry all the chosen tags.
Automatic tags
Tags with a spark icon were added by us: beach, dog, sunset and many more. We recognise what can be seen in a photo and assign the tag in your language. This can be wrong. Automatic tags are visible only to you and otherwise behave like your own: search, rename, merge.
You can turn them on and off in Settings. They apply to photos you upload from then on.
Manage automatic tags
In a tag's menu you can rename or delete it. If you rename it to a name that already exists, the two are merged. If you delete an automatic tag, it won't come back on new photos either. Under "Ignored tags" in Settings you can allow it again.
Upper and lower case
"Beach" and "beach" are the same tag. We show it the way you first wrote it.
