Appearance
Light or dark ("Dark Mode"). There is also "Autoplay videos": it applies to the photo page and only to the device on which you set it.
Dates and places
The "Date format" applies to dates on photos, in lists and in tables. "Automatic" follows your language. Headings such as "August 2026" are always written out in full.
Place names come in two lengths: short on tiles, in lists and on trip cards, and long on the photo page. For each you choose which parts are shown, for example just the city or city and country.
Automatic tags
Here you switch on that new photos automatically get tags for what can be seen in them. Below that are the "Ignored auto-tags": automatic tags you have deleted, which therefore don't come back. With "Restore" you allow one again. More under Tags.
Face recognition
Here you switch on that faces in new photos are grouped into people. The processing runs on our own servers. More under People.
AI assistants & API keys
Here you connect assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT to your library, manage API keys and disconnect connected apps. Everything about it is under AI assistants.
Language
You change the language of the interface through the address (/de/ or /en/) or in your profile. The language in your profile also decides which language we use for emails and for creating automatic tags.
